Re: Gaming laptop for sale

Those are discontinued as well, saw new bins up on Ark that were launched end of last year so they're still making them. That doesn't say anything to availablility but you're right, they're still shipping 8 core models. Shouldn't be a surprise I suppose, but they're quicker to the party than I had f...

Re: Gaming laptop for sale

Only AMD has an 8 physical core processor. . LIES! FUCKING LIES! if you got that quote i tip my hat to you.... intel has 8 core cpu's. It's called 2011 xeons. AND 16 core 32 logical when you get an srx from evga that supports 2x 8core 16 thread xeons. That wouldn't be a 16 core CPU, that's two eigh...

AVX is reserved seating, pick em when you purchase and show up 5 minutes before it starts.

Re: YEP - FRAGAPALOOZA IS SCHEDULED. AUG 9-12

if I remember right, you can simply enter your machine name in the remote desktop address field to reach your server, while its a very good idea to know your mac address and assigned IP, chances are, you wont need to remember. That's all well and good for a windows server, anyone running a linux or...

Remote desktop is retardedly easy to use, shouldn't be a problem.

Do you guys assign static IPs ahead of time for people wishing to use the server area, or do you just have to boot the thing up and try to find it on the network?

Re: WTB HTPC... Any suggestions?

So I decided to try one of those eee box things... While it took a small bit of setup involving audio within linux over HDMI (just some config changes entirely within the GUI... all this could have been avoided by using xbmc on windows mind you) this thing works flawlessly. It can play every HD mov...

Re: Retro LAN Jan 20-22, 2012

I kind of saw the little amount of warning being a problem. We could still coop Serious Sam quite easily if you want to keep this going. 3-4 can still be a great LAN, just not so much if you planned to play UT all weekend. Serious Sam is great with just a few people, Empire Earth is awesome (if you...

Re: Boxee Box - $90

Good example of this is the farms that are utilizing Mac Minis, Decent hardware with small foot print. That's really more a clustering operation than what I'm talking about, that's not dissimilar to the PS3 clusters people were experimenting with a few years back, but that's more or less the idea. ...

Re: Sapphire AMD/ATI 6990 4GB / Maybe 27" Apple Cinemas

I have 3 Apple Cinema Displays (27" - 2560x1440). I've been contemplating selling these for a bit now, for the main reason that my desk is so big that it can actually get difficult for me to read text at the resolution 2560x1440 with it being so far back, but then when I game I don't want them...
