it might be a funny request but I'v been working on a vintage computer to play games like quake and half life, But i'd really like a voodoo so i can play games that use glide. The reason i wan't a voodoo 2 is because i can then passthrough the card with my radeon 9000 card. I'm not interested in looking for one of these cards on ebay though. yet i am aware i could find one fairly easy. I'm just interested in finding one locally. I know a guy who has 2 in sli but can't find them anywhere so if all else fails i'll see if he ever finds them.

i have like 10-14 of these. I can fish one out, but the catch is, i cant be sure they work, and i cant be bothered to test them out.

i am willing to give ya one, if it does not work, i will give you another until we have one that works.

( btw, I have no reason to think they don't work, its just they have been sitting around in boxs owned by many different people, so I just don't know)

I can play these games on today's top of the line video cards. There are even usually mods that update coding and textures to make them slightly more modern. Hell, I've been playing Descent 1 and 2 for the last 3 months with HD textures on my GTX 480's and more recently 580M/590's. I understand nostalgic value, but I still get the same feelings with better coding and visuals.

games that use glide
Old-ish (quake 3, half life) games have more of a problem with new CPU's than Vid cards.

Assuming you've got an old 775 mobo with an AGP slot which is what the e7500 is for???

no I'v got a pentium 3 machine, and the e7500 is for a newer computer. The computer i'd put the voodoo in is an old dell precision 220 with a ton of upgrades. I'm going for period here. I bought a voodoo 1 and it was dead, but if there's a couple voodoo's laying around i'b be happy to try them out.

BTW: here are the specs for the P3 computer. dell precision 220, duel P3 1000's, 512mb's of RD ram, sapphire radeon 9000 atlantis pro 128mb, SB live, 80+40gb hdd's, usb 2.0 card, ethernet, 230w psu, and win98se/win2k duel boot. The thing also has 2 sony dvd-rom cd burners. I have like 4-5 computers so i buy all kinds of parts.

Voodoo cards where the fastest ways to run some games long after the company died.

It's a contraction for a spelling error

I have an old slot 1 600 pentium in the basement with all the ram slots full (not sure exactly how much), old Sound blaster AWE32 classic card , Voodoo 5 5500 ( I have a Voodoo 4 4500 around here somewhere too but the voltage to run it is 1.8 in the newer AGP slots not like the 3.3 which the voodoo 5 uses which was on the older AGP slots). Also have win98 sp2 on it. I have Duke Nukem 3d on it, Full throttle, Mech Warrior 2, and a couple of others.

Hell, I may have to blow the dust off of it and fire it up again.

the duel P3's in my PC are slot 1, i used to have a slot one 650mhz but that got scrapped in the name of this PC. I would love to have a SB AWE32 those are awsome cards. I have a SB 16 that i can't use yet becuase i have to install the opptional ISA slot on the motherboard. I find that the old harware is fun to mess-around with when it works.

and as to this? I just love messing with hardware. new or old, i just like building rigs and messing with them. With old computers, not only is it a change from the modern PC's i have. But also there the cheapest fun, so if a mess up it not to bad. ALTHOUGH i don't want to mess up, it can happen. there's more to do with old computers too, with new one you buy your new watever, through it in and there you go. There might be a tweak here and an overclock there but with and old computer there's alot of fuckin around to get stuff to work right. THIS MAY however turn people off, and there fine to do so. But it's a cool acomplishment when my 12-year-old computer can out-preform your new laptop!
