Coming into a LAN with expectations and nostalgia is what kills it, the LANS we look back to we didn't have LAN's to look back to from. That's all IMO. They're just as fun now, everyone's just got more going on in their lives, and I'm sure people who are as young as we were when we went to our first LAN's are having the same kind of fun we did then.

Just my two bits.

I'll second the, by saying (if you didn't see the thread, us guys have Lans, in the basement, really sketchy table setup (next one hopefully will be better) and we have a blast.

We are all still in high-school, most of the guys it's their first time ever having a PC of their own, and ALOT of them can't get to larger events.
We do not per say focus on just ONE game, but we tend to have events, (last one was a Euro truck simulator race) (Halo PC tourny, Mario kart and mario party) stuff like that. and everyone is either playing or spectating.

I'm gonna make a thread asking for a bit of advice since I have to plan the next LAN here by myself -_- again...

ANYWAY side note, would anyone be interested if I brought The Voodoo 2 SLI rig to hallowlan? maybe a CRT and stuff like that? just wondering...

Like our ninja LANs back in the day, very little notice usually a particular game had come out or somone had A notion and most of us had the time..

Looks like work is getting in the way of me attending hallowlan after all, sorry for the short notice. I'll be busy raping the earth.

Just got my new schedule and I am in.
I'm a man. I do manly things. Like drink vodka straight, while doing 1 armed chin-ups, and punching baby bunnies. All at the same time.

It will be good to catch up with you, as well. Bring more pictures of your wife!

You drop by the birthday party for an hour, eat half the cake, and than come back to the LAN. A nice sugar boost when you come back to gaming.

Sounds like a good plan. The execution of said plan will be difficult.
