I think that problem has been mentioned a few times, but there wasn't any effort made to address it. Hopefully it will be taken into consideration this time around. Torrents won't be the only problem, as Steam will auto-update everyone's game installs unless the user has set it to manually update.

I'll just keep my Turbo Stick handy if it becomes a problem.

i have not heard a peep from them, so best to plan without at this point. Good luck managing torrents with a consumer router :), Everyone just need to behave

Ok,

We still have to decide if we want to just pay for yearly service from Shaw...

I think we could make enough money from this LAN to do it (Will cost 600-800 for the year is my guess, $50/month for months we dont have lans, and 75/month to bump up the service to extreme for the weekend)

I think it's probably best to just stick to adhoc

If your gonig to bump the service up and down, get nitro. but make sure they can do normal service with the docsis 3 modem while in standby. I only say that cuz the docsis 3 system does indeed seem to handle torrent spam fairly well

Extreme is the fastest "business" connection that Shaw offers. They don't do nitro and warp for business accounts.

Some morons still try it.

From now on, it will cost $175 per LAN from now on, so if we have 4 or more LANs per year, paying the yearly cost would cost less. Though I'd feel better if Goldbar would chip in for some..

I'm not sure how often you're crew rents the place, but GL is pretty well down to one LAN a year. Our merger LANs seem well received, but unless you have more than four LANs a year there isn't much point in setting up the account all year.

Since we're on the topic, did you ever call Telus regarding this? Didn't see an update on the front, if Telus is more willing to work with us it might be worth it, and canceling Shaw is an excellent way to get them to work with you (as retarded as that is).
A limited supply of surprisingly, as this homeboy is poised for the big time. Sweet and pure like a honey coated nun, SOULS well sure he funky in the 70s.

Why will they not bill it as a residential line? It's not really a business. That doesn't make sense.. Especially if it's in someones name.

I haven't tried since our second attempt, but they said because it wasn't a residence and its a community hall that it has to be a business line.

dont buy in to that crap just threaten to say ok we will go else where and they say ok fine we will do it.

can't u grab as a resident for say your place and then for the time when the lan happen say "i putting it at this location now it all setup, can u just turn it on here" it shouldnt be a problem we shouldnt have to fork over a ton of cash for them to flick the switch.

did u look in to buying the modem since that usualy also help make the cost alot less
