That place is so nice. I went there this summer with some friends. I went on a quad for the first time, and it was my last time as well. So much of that beauty is being literally ripped apart by quadders. In order to get to ruby falls, you need to cross the cardinal river, then ruby creek multiple times. The gravel bed where the fish spawn is destroyed from quadders. Also, the banks of ruby lake is being destroyed as well. it's a pretty sad sight. IMHO quadding should be banned from natural places such as this. They should make trails for these monsterous devices away from fragile habitats. Sorry for the rant but that place really opened my eyes. I also went to gap lake last year, it was supposed to be a gorgeous hike into the lake. Instead the trail was torn up by quadders and we couldn't walk on the trails form all of the mud and water. We were pretty persistent though, and put on chest waders. When we finally got to the lake, the muskeg shore was so torn up as well. We must have alot of quadders here in Alberta because that's 2 summers in a row I have been disgusted by the damage done.
