I can pay extra for power.
It's not a matter of money, it's a matter of blowing breakers. Use it and if it causes problems, shut it off. LCDs are awesome though so I don't think it'll be an issue.

oh god, rock band is another lan scourge. All the drum hit sounds, uuhhgg. Tap, click, click click tap click tap tap all the way through your headphones at frag
You could have participated instead of silently nerd-raging. Nearly everyone else thought it was awesome.

Your setting your self up for being a double standard. Sounds like your noise is ok. Of course you thought it was awesome, people who liked it hung around your area. People who did not, stayed away and listened to tap tap tap tap for many hours on end while trying to play REAL games. I know at least 2 people at frag that where not GL, who where offended by the rock band setup who elected to not say anything, so that 3 of us at least.

Anyway, I will keep this in mind when i pack my lan bag and wether i throw the speakers in or not.

As I doupt I will actually win this agrument, plz plz plz go out and buy one of those drum kits that are deasigned to be a little quieter, PLEASE.

I call bullshit.

Anyway Dolphin ... Should I bring the 360? I know Gomer has GH World Tour so that might be an option.

Can't we have an area where this stuff can be played - away from the uber nerds (same area can be used for the movies - cause someone is bringing a projector I hope)

On that note, how big is this hall? Can we bring couches for movies then sleeping etc. ?

I am in, holy crap a lan that actually falls on my one weekend off a month.

After reading the post more thoroughly I would be willing to bring my '32 or '37 TV (can't really remember what size and don't really know how to ball park TV Inches) and all 3 of my Console systems as long as they were safe. I don't know any 4 player PS3 games but I can bring some Blu-ray movies and others can contribute but I sure know a shit load of Wii 4 player games. Less noise with Super Smash Bro's or Wii bowling.

I must admit also that consoles are not LAN Scourges. Lets say you don't enjoy a game (cough CoD:WaW) than instead of being all loner and playing a single player game or watching porn you found off my hard drive (I'm gonna beat you this time around Ratton, I've already started organizing and downloading as much as I can grab). Than you can at least still be in a LAN party type atmosphere and not be a loner. I've found more often than not when that lame damn game Flatout starts going I get physically sick and go back to playing my single player games in the corner with the sound turned up really high.

What kind of parking do we have at this event? I'm guessing car pooling is promoted but I'm sure grapes is video game hating on me for beating fallout 3 first and telling him his HDMI is broken so I'm stuck with me myself and I.

AWESOME still on the Southside of the river. North side sucks, south side represent!

P.S. I can still bring my consoles and their respective games if there are too many TV volunteers.

I am in the camp of: Anything that is going to prevent the TF2 server being full is a lan scourge

Ultimatly, nothing wrong with having fun doing what ever. but the point of lans was play larger multiplayer games with low ping. You can have an xbox party anytime just by calling up 3 friends on sudden notice.

This is sounding like a file leech lan

I'm sure most people grabbed their shit from the Grande Prairie Fragga. I just want to beat Ratton on the porn aspect. But I've seriously gotten bored with TF2 like a month after playing it so even if there was no Xbox party i think i would still be hosting off on a Supreme Commander game or some sort of strategy. Plus most of us don't have friends that are available to play consoles with. I'm lucky if I ever get a day off at the same time as my friends once a month so this would be a treat to me. Pull out some castle crashers or something.

Not to say I won't play some TF2 I'm just saying that's not my style of game. If it's a first person shooter I like the distant future games or the realistic present day. TF2 has some fun aspects though. Hehe, spy fun!

Getting a few people to play RTS is the same as getting a few people to play a console. not everyone likes RTS and same goes for consoles. You will never all agree on one game. Lets get some good FPS (it's what the majority plays at LANs) and when people need a break and slow down, let the RTS and console gaming commence. Just try and get along guys. And don't worry about an LCD just yet, I'm gonna try for a projector. If I find the gaming could be better and there are a ton of people playing consoles, I won't be afraid to tell them to shut things down and join the rest of us. The console and movies will be used for downtime, that is it.
