Shit game, unfortunately.
Played the Multiplayer Demo, did not enjoy it at all.
I played as Alien and Pred, not Marine though.

Reading up on forums for Supreme Commander2. It looks like they are using STEAM for everything, authentication, achievements, even multiplayer. Someone asked Chris Taylor about Lan play and this is what he said.

At this link, http://member.square-enix.com/na/forums ... ?f=4&t=238

"Will Supreme Commander 2 have LAN play?
CT – Yes, but Steam is used to “set up” the game. Once a game connection is made, the packets all get routed locally. Using Steam for LAN makes it possible to invite people into a game, bypassing the requirement to join a game from a server list."

I like the old Supreme Commander because I could load up two copies at home and my son and I could play against each other. But with Steam authentication I doesn't look good for running the same copy on two machines at home.

Has it been determined yet if we are going to have internet at this LAN? I don't know if LAN play will work without it for Supreme Commander 2?

I can call Shaw today and have them there to set it up the day of... if we agree to spend the money on it. (The cost isn't too bad when split across 60 peeps..)

Have you scoped out what Telus could do for us at this venue?

I talked to one of their dispatchers who comes to fragapalooza. He said they don't do that, but he'd talk to someone about it. Haven't heard back for a couple weeks.

We should decide soon, Shaw usually has 2-3 weeks booked up for installs.
