Bought last year, have since upgraded to $900 cables. They sound great for the price and I had to spend $900 to find something better! They are bare wire ends (the only way to go) and can be used for bi-wire (what I was using) or regular setups. Paid $140 from a local store, asking $50.

Sold.

Using Reality Cable XLR and Speaker Wire. Hand made by some guy down in the states. Fricking amazing. Using 4 runs. One fore bass and one for treble on each speaker.

odd as XLR is in groups of 3 and is a low voltage link. Explain? or is it a case where he happens to just use xlr connectors.

I am confused, they cant be balanced electrically unless you use the 3 lines though, and they can't be used as balanced xlr unless your speakers are powered...

help me understand what you are doing?

Yeah, you misunderstood. Yes, I'm using the Reality Cables XLR cables AND speaker wire. Not XLR cables as speaker wire :P.

The XLR's go from my DAC/Pre to each mono amp, then my speaker wire goes from each mono amp terminal (x4 on each) to my speakers (- High, + High, - Low, + Low) aka Bi-Wire.

Indeed. There's nothing more to upgrade though. Audio 2.0 heaven right now. Thanks goodness.

Seriously though Dan, when you love music and you hear it from a system like this, you can't go back to anything else :-)

I can't hear much difference between decent audio and awesome audio. But my ears suck.

its actually pretty easy to recognize the much better sound that comes with dual or triple amps.

The amps become more efficient at louder volumes with less distortion and muddieness.
The results are even well worth it at reasonable volumes levels. You also get the benefit of
control over your cross over points, that alone can make worlds of difference.

most of the audiophile stuff like silver cables, gold plated connectors is way overblown. but.. the bi-amp setups, xlr connectors, will produce real world results anyone can here
