Damn man. Wish I had extra coin right now. Xmas killed me and business was slow in December. I need a streamer for my bedroom and was gonna pay 90 for a new WDTV. Would much rather have the Boxee. If it's still available at the end of the month I'll come grab it from ya.

i gave up on those little movie boxs too, i went full PC again with this controller for media surfing.

regular wireless mouse and keyboard tucked away for moments where a real keyboard and mouse is a must.

i have never been a fan of htpc software, the regular windows interface is superior so long as you have a decent device to control it with on the couch, the lenovo works great for this purpose.

FUCK these little linux movie players, fuck HTPC.

PC wins

I was speaking of the remote on it's own. You can buy it on it's own. For the PC. I'm using it for XBMC.

YOU = FAIL!!!

ok, controller pass then.

PC still wins. No more gay NAS, no more GAY set top media players. PC File server, PC router, PC workstation, PC media playback. WIN

torrents vs usenet again.... i thought this was kinda settled, of course usenet is great. but torrents do have one quality that makes them attractive, that being it is much easier to find old or uncommon content.

for example, 2 years ago when i ran a search to find all the classic episodes of doctor who since the 1960's, usenet came up with nothing helpful. With torrents i got what I wanted in 1 search, top of the list. now excuse me if you do a search now and you find all ~700 episodes, but i know for a fact it was not easy to find when i looked.

again, its the internet, content changes over time and search skillz vary. but i have had constant better luck finding good collections of old content on torrents sites, both private and public over any other method.

for new content, of course torrents are not as good for a few reasons, not as efficient, rights holders might be watching, always a few hours behind more l33t methods. but in the end i still get stuff pretty darn fast.
