My A8N32-SLI DX went tits up. I was wondering if anyone had a spare board I could borrow for a few weeks while I wait for my RMA. I'd be willing to pay a rental fee. ;)

I understand most of us don't have spare motherboards just laying around but I thought I'd at least check before I bought a cheapie board from memex tomorrow.

Thanks

I didn't even think MemX had S939 boards in stock anymore.

On a side note, why NOT pick one up, it's always good to have a spare for just these kinds of situations! Especially if you can pick one up from their clearance section for say... $50

going without a computer for a few weeks never hurt anyone.

Indeed

Or the few days it takes to find a replacement part, instead of stocking it.

Now that I think about it, it may be my CPU that's gone to shit. I'm getting mad memory errors and I've eliminated the ram as the problem. Force of habit made me suspect the motherboard......forgetting that A64s have onboard mem controller.

Shit.

Well, I would offer to lend you my 3200+ but Stoop has it right now and I have been meaning to pick it up from him. He needs to fuk'n msg me so I know when he's home. I've got a S939 board that would probably serve your purposes until your parts came back. If you want the processor, you've gotta talk to Stoop, if you want the board, PM me.

This is weird. I got hundreds of memtest errors at home, but I get it to work, remove it from the case, run it on the bench and it tests just fine. Put it back in the case, tests just fine. I'm really WTFing now.

I'm gonna hold off on replacing any parts for now until I can say with some certainty if any one part is messed up.

Thanks a ton for your offer Whyte. I appreciate it.

Problem fixed. It was indeed the mobo.
It was alot of trial and error elimination to find.

I actually ended up buying a really cheapie board (bought on the way to work before I saw Whyte's post and then I just ended up using it) and I'll just sell off the A8N32-SLI when I get it back from RMA.

Upgrading before fraga so the cheapie MSI board should do me fine until then.

Thanks again Whyte for the offer.

meh, just trying to help out. I guess I could sell the mobo and the CPU to help buy me a new vid card.
