One thing I noticed this year was much fewer people playing WoW. Most people seemed to remember how to LAN again. Was fun.

No problem Dolphin but I gave it to you because I knew you owned a PS3 and I saw Touque showing it to you. I didn't know Touque had a PS3 too, haha, I think he was disappointed I didn't give it to him, lol.

I still can't believe I actually won anything this year, I spent the evening installing that multimedia and fan controller as well as the power supply. My power supply was a cheap $60 one, so it was nice to get a good quality one yesterday. The little mp3 player will come in handy too.

As for Wow, I did play some, and did a little rep grinding, but only when I got bored.

Oh and thanks Locus for the Kurosawa stuff, much appreciated.

It was a good lan all around. Frag was fun again this year and I especially liked the wave, Rock Band, and "Let's make a deal" contests. They were pretty darn interesting although I think the randomizer would be more fun to use to select people for "Lets make a deal" or something akin to that.

All in all it was fun. Oh and by the way for Hallowlan what do you guys think about combining the two groups MegaFPS and GarageLan for that lan??

Thats what I mean ... they actually play games and their are alot of us missing it.

Plus they work with real sponsers for their lans so I think that is something we could get in to as well. Heck ... big ol costume contest for a nice prize would be SHA-weet!!!


Oh and I won a motherboard for the Volunteer draw at the end of it all. So that is 4 GL'rs with prizes.

i was warming up to the idea of joining the megafps guys in some sort of merger idea, but it all depends on what others think. Yes, they are different than us, but GL as a whole is now becoming filled with different groups doing things, so i don't know what the problem would be really. As our diversity grows, we need more people to sustain different interests.


In the end, does it really matter what the name of a group of people is?

Yep... I just figured that if we had a lan where we combined with the MegaFPS guys once in awhile we would:

1) Have bigger lans and wouldnt be ticked when a couple people split off to do other things
2) Actually do some group fundraising with more lans happening. I am thinking maybe GL and MegaFPS could sponser a tourney next year or hell even do up our own Fraga T-Shirts or something to that affect. I dont know ... just mulling over some ideas.

Anyway I was talking with Alpha about it last night after Frag and he is pretty much down for a combined effort once in awhile. I think it would be a heck of an idea.

PLUS THEY PLAY BATTLEFIELD ....
edit: ........... and the new 1943 should be out in September for PC.

It's been many moons since I played battlefield. Would be fun to get into 1943 come Hallowlan.
unrelated note: why in holy fuck would they release that game for console first!?!?!
