I hope to be there at 12:30 to help.
But have a service call in the morning so it is dependent on when that finishes.

Tomorrow is the big day!

Please have your steam games downloaded/patched before coming to save on bandwidth :)

Setup will start at 12:30 for those who want to come help, otherwise show up anytime!
I will also be there about 12:30 unless my phone goes crazy with calls

Well, I guess I'm calling it. I'm out. I would prefer not to get you guys sick with this stupid cold. I just can't seem to sleep it off. That, and I need to try and get some sleep over the weekend and get better for work. LAN's are pretty counter-productive to sleep. At least, for me. I'll see what I can do about dropping by, though.

It was OK, I would have preferred some large player based games. I mean I even asked those damn mmo players if they wanted to play something LAN wise... DragonFire did.

I saw UT was played but not a large amount got in game.
Chivalry was played lots but did not run well on my comp. My fault on that game :-(

But I had fun with the games that did run properly.

How was the turn out? Did you break records like you were hoping?

I counted 59, not as much as last year.

Lots of new people though which was good.

Taking your computer to a LAN to play an MMO? Why not stay home and play it there?
It's not like anyone wants to be your friend in real life when you play MMO's at a LAN.

I've seen you raiding during a LAN, a lot of other people too.

I remember we've had a lot of fun doing some stupid shit in MMOs at LANs too.

From what I understand, this event is not strictly a LAN that adheres to a schedule of gaming or tournaments and such. People can come and do whatever they want, although gaming is the primary activity. But, people can either play games, or they can pursue their hobbies (as if they were at home). Having said that, playing an MMO would be fine since that is their hobby and they are at GarageLAN because it's a change in atmosphere rather being in the basement of their home. The change in atmosphere can provide a sense of "vacation"

There is also the opportunity for people to share stuff with eachother via file sharing. In fact, I put in the effort to bring all my hard drives and setup sharing and share my stuff as well.
