Because going to a lan with 500 guys would put me in a whole different level of nerdom and I just don't want to go there.

That's right... I went to a Trek Convention once... and I'll never rise to that level of nerdom again!

But Nicole Deboer was fucking hot, so it helped cancel out some nerdom... but nothing could help cancel out nerdom gains of Fraga. :D

Edit: Ezri Fucking Dax for those who didn't know who Nicole played.

Edit2: lol, also that trek con was in the same building too! so I know it lingers with Nerdom!

i think there is a love/hate relationship with frag. The idea of a big lan is pretty cool, but then.... enter the lowest common denominator. That dammed denominator always follows large crowds with games of CS and warcraft 3 ( insert games you do not like to replace mine if you wish ). There are tons of other problems that go hand with doing something big, but The frag guys do pretty good job in the end.

If you actually have a game to play there, frag is heaven. Otherwise it becomes a social event / leech fest ( data and prizes).

This year I think I am gonna love frag however, I am hoping lots of TF action breaks out during prime time, and then sup_com in the off hours with the GL sup_come group

My only issue with frag is they really need to work something out of the food/drink policy. They make you feel guilty for not buying shit there, but what they offer is not computer geek friendly.

I just don't want to dedicate a whole weekend to a LAN that is on the opposite side of the city, let alone 4 days. I have nothing against fraga anymore. Just a time investment thing.

Well who's fault is it for feeling guilty?
Besides as far as I know you can eat and drink there as long as you dont bring a cooler (or have one that doesnt LOOK like a cooler...)

i am sure if the mayfield staff set up a double gulp refill station and charged $2.50-3.50 for a double gulp people would not be too upset

The other thing they could do is get one of the pizza places to set up a small both at the event and sell pizza in an offcial capacity on site. It would really just be a glorified ordering both ( they would still have to deliever since baking it onsite would not work too well )

As long as the mark up is not significant, people will go for it. If the mark up is crazy as they will try, people will just go elsewear. Geaks/nerd dont like getting ripped off
