Re: GarageLAN 2009 - April 3rd-5th

The liquor thing kinda was a way to sweeten the deal of staying overnight. I told the guy we are very responsible and don't drink or do drugs and that we can be trusted to spend the night. It was after I said this that he had no issues with us staying overnight. The rule is, out of sight out of mind. I just don't want the owner coming by for a routine check and seeing me fall back on my word. And yes, there will be minors so it's a good idea not to promote drinking. This will be an alcohol-free lan for me ..... and I can't remember the last time that happened. Should be a gooder.

Or, you could always go 2 days without drinking...just a thought...if you can't make it the full 2 days, then perhaps you need to seek some help.

I don't usually drink at all. But I get the desire to in get togethers like this.
Not drunk. But a few beers would sure hit the spot. :P

But, like I said, not a big deal. I'm sure Chad will need little convincing to go for a couple of wobbly pops on saturday ;)

I get all sorts of people asking me about drinking at Frag and always give them the same response as I gave you guys. I personally have no problem with going out for a drink or two, but with what happened at the Grande Prairie Frag with the MORONS drinking and acting like fucktards, it goes to show you that it really doesn't belong. If you NEED to drink (and I don't mean 2 beers with dinner or wings or something), then stay home.

/me gets off high horse

Let's just say that they didn't understand the words "no drinking" and proceeded to act like fucktards. Not worth getting into details, but from a LAN Organizer point of view, alcohol has no place at such an event. From a participant point of view I can see how a few drinks with your buddies might be fun, but I think the key thing is a "few" drinks.

I don't think my opinion needs to influence anyone and if I spoke out of turn then forgive me. :)
