Tell Stoop to sell his 7900GT, add it to the money he was going to spend on another 7900GT, and get an 8800GT.

SLI is such a minimal performance gain and it's buggy.

I already told him that.

Too bad that he could probably find another 7900GT for about $100, whereas a 8800GT is $300.

Yah, i can see your point but I ran SLI for like 2 years and you can't run two monitors. You have 4 fukn monitor plugs and you can only use 1. It really sucks, I love 2 monitors now. Also they don't do shit for directx games, opengl games seem to benefit the most (this is where I think ATI's solution is a bit better with directx, which is what most games use nowadays).

besides that. the 8800 is still the better card for the minor increase in price.

Better than two 7900

I generally consider SLI and XFire to be an epic failure.

The only good thing I've seen lately to do with Xfire is it's multi display support. Pretty well the same idea as the Parhelia.

Outside of that niche tho xfire has only been marginally more disappointing than SLI.
A limited supply of surprisingly, as this homeboy is poised for the big time. Sweet and pure like a honey coated nun, SOULS well sure he funky in the 70s.

Dave didn't ask for your opinions, none of these posts have made him any closer to locating another 7900GT, so STFU.

^

His response, not mine, believe it or not.

Tell Dave, he can quit being a candy ass, and log on and say STFU himself... otherwise who gives a fuck about what some guys says off forums.

Yeah... Except for $170 he'd be better off picking up a Radeon HD3850 (or a used 8800GTS 320MB) which would be approximately 2x-3x faster than his 7900GT. He's trying to minimize costs here, like $100 or less.
