Let's ring in the new year with a LAN party!

What: LAN party!
When: January 3-4-5 2014
Where: Fulton Place Community League (6115 Fulton Rd NW, Edmonton, AB, Canada)
Games: Anything and everything! New games: BF4, Payday 2,
The usuals: TF2, Left4Dead2, SC2, SupCom, Flatout, Chivalry, Company of Heroes, LoL, Trackmania, Civ 5, Sins of a Solar Empire...
Cost: $20 for the whole weekend!

This event is open to everyone! Bring your friends and family, the more the merrier. Hope to see you there!

At that start date, I will be the age of legality to consume alcoholic refreshments... for a total of 3.5ish days! So I have to come to this one, I can also speak for the rest of the Innisfail crew that Yourbestpie, riskei, and Hellraider will more then likely be joining as well.

Introduce yourself when you come. Most people are friendly

I forget a lot of faces, so sometimes I forget who is new and who isn't. When we are starting a new game I try to let the newcomers know so they have a chance to join in.

Have your games downloaded and installed before coming, take a look at what people are playing, maybe try to get them on a steam sale if you don't have them already (Chivalry for $5, Civ 5 for $7, BF4 for $30, etc).

Make friends with the people you are sitting beside and they'll include you too. If you sit by yourself and don't interact with others you'll have a bad time.

When the going gets rough... Order another pizza.

But in all seriousness, a few that some people may not think about; bring lots of snacks that dont get your fingers messy (gotta hate when a match starts and youre covered in BBQ sauce or something), dont plan on sleeping too much although ive found especially with the smaller LANs 3am-9am is usually pretty quiet. also when you do plan on sleeping there is a floor... it is concrete, and therefore cold... bring either lots of blankets and a good reclining chair, or a decent sleeping setup (air mattress/cot/hammock/etc). make sure you have everything... like everything, before you leave home and before you leave the hall, that means thumb drives, monitor cords, mousepads, all the little crap, I cant say ive been to a ton... but someone always forgets something stupid and yet seemingly irreplaceable. If you dont know something, dont be afraid to ask anyone, chances are they can help or will point in the right direction. also what alphadrake said... were all friendly! see ya there!

Also remember that no one (other than fitty....I don't think he sweats ) can go days without a shower and not stink up the joint. Go home and shower if you can. If you can't, bring deodorant.
